1. ARCHERY KIT FOR MS. ANJANA MADHU

21.04.2021|Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu| Walkaroo Foundation, presented  a compound bow worth INR 354429/- to Ms.Anjana Madhu, a flourishing and successful archer from Kerala, who has been excelling in archery since her childhood. Ms. Anjana Madhu, a student from Gurukulam Higher Secondary School in Palakkad has been practicing archery for over seven years. She has won several awards at the district and state levels. She has also represented the state of Kerala in the National Archery Championship, 2017 held at Vijayawada. The archery kit was handed over to Ms. Anjana by Mr. Rasheed, Director Walkaroo Foundation during a function at Walkaroo Foundation’s office.

2. DISTRIBUTION OF COVID 19 MEDICINES TO ESI HOSPITAL, COIMBATORE

16.06.2021|Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu| As part of its’ fight against the COVID 19 pandemic, Walkaroo Foundation donated medicines worth INR 4,82,000/- for COVID patients at ESI Medical Hospital, Coimbatore. The medicines where handed over to the hospital by Mr. Deepak, CFO of Walkaroo Group.

3. E-LEARNING AIDS TO BRIDGE DIGITAL GAP

07.2021-10.2021| Kerala| As part of an initiative to bridge the digital divide in the educational sector, Walkaroo Foundation in its 1st phase sourced and donated 5 smart phones worth INR 27,995/- to Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode. In its 2nd phase Walkaroo Foundation sourced 50 numbers of Lenovo tablets worth INR 3,40,135/- in association with CII Kerala and donated them to GLPS Olavanna, ALPS, Olavanna, Sree Krishna High School, Nallepilly, AUPS Mundakkara, GVHSS Cheruvannur, GVHSS Meenchanda, AUPS Desaseva Kurumpoyil, GMUP School Kodinhi and GHSS Beypore under the Vidhya Kiranam project of Govt of Kerala.

05.06.2022|Payambra,Kerala|Walkaroo Foundation has been providing monetary assistance of INR 25,000/- monthly to Volley Friends Sports Center from 1st September, 2021 to provide coaching to the students of the club. The Foundation also provided Jersey for the students of Volley Friends. Apart from these activities, the Foundation provided monetary assitance of INR 1,65,735/- for the construction of a volleyball practice wall that the club was in dire need of. The practice wall was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Salam, Director, Walkaroo Group. The Volley Friends Sports Center, which came into being in 2001, has produced six international players, around fifty national players and many others as well at the state and district level. .

5. PROVISION OF LEARNING AIDS TO GOVERNMENT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, MALUMICHAMPATTI

25.10.2021| Malumichampatti, Coimbatore| Walkaroo Foundation donated 100 numbers of desk and benches, 6 numbers of steel racks and 2 numbers of steel cupboards, totally worth INR 6,57,991.60/- to Government Higher Secondary School, Malumichampatti. The project was undertaken to curb the lack of infrastructure at the school. The desk and benches were handed over to the school by representatives of Walkaroo Group.

8. UYARVU PROJECT

25.02.2022| Kinathukadavu, Tamil Nadu| Walkaroo Foundation, launched project Uyarvu with Sharanalayam an NGO with an aim to promote empowerment for the destitute women. This project provides infrastructure and hands-on training for the women at the Sharanalayam campus. As part of the initiative, the women were given vocational training on stitching cloth bags and to do screen printing. The project was inaugurated by Mr. Vasanth Ramkumar, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, Coimbatore. The total cost of the project is INR 88,288/-

6. PURCHASED AND DONATED CYCLE AND HOME TRAINER TO NATIONAL LEVEL CYCLIST MOHAMMED RAHOOF

02.11.2021|EDAYAPURAM, KERALA|A sports cycle worth INR 2,90,000/- and home trainer worth INR 69,990/- was provided to Mr. Mohammed Rahoof by Walkaroo Foundation under its CSR Initiative, Shiksha Samunnathi. Walkaroo has been supporting the holistic development of the younger generation by providing access to good education and sports training facilities. Mr. Rahoof is a national level cyclist who has represented the state of Kerala and won silver and bronze medals. Mr. Rahoof has also achieved admission to the training centre of Sports Authority of India.

9. FIRST AID TRAINING FOR AUTO/TAXI DRIVERS CONDUCTED IN ASSOCIATION WITH ALERT

26.02.2022|Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu| Walkaroo Foundation in association with ALERT NGO, provided Basic First Aid training for Auto and Taxi drivers of Malumichampatti. Around 15 auto drivers and 5 taxi drivers attended the training programme. The training programme was held at Walkaroo Group’s corporate office. The total cost of the project was INR 22216.92/-.

7. TELEVISION FOR THARAVADU

06.11.2021|Kozhikode, Kerala| Walkaroo Foundation purchased and donated a Smart LED TV worth INR 54,750/- to Tharavadu, an old age daycare centre. The day care centre run by Living Life Trust, has more than 40 members. The members had requested the TV to participate in classes, watch news and other engagement programmes. The TV was handed over to the members by Mr. Noushad, Managing Director, Walkaroo Group, during a function organised by the Trust..

10. FREE EYE CAMP

27.03.2022|Malumichampatti, Coimbatore |Walkaroo Foundation organized free cataract surgeries and treatment of other eye-related issues at a camp attended by 479 disadvantaged people from villages in and around Malumichampatti. The free eye camp is another milestone crossed by the Foundation in its journey towards bringing the benefits of modern health care to weaker sections of society. Daily wagers, farmers, industrial laborers, and the aged belonging to the lower economic stratum from villages such as Arisipalayam, Nachipalayam, Malumichampatti, Chettipalayam, Okkilipalayam, Bodipalayam, Seerapalayam, Mache Goundampalayam, Madukkarai, J.J Nagar, and Anbu Nagar, converged at the camp that was organized in partnership with Aravind Eye Hospital. 84 people diagnosed with cataract was taken from the camp to the Aravind Eye Hospital for free cataract surgery. The patients were also provided accommodation and food, and were given transportation back home, escorted by volunteers of Walkaroo Foundation. The total cost of the camp was INR 102079.6/-.

12. AMENITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL AT DOBBASPET

14.08.2022|Dobbaspet, Karnataka| Walkaroo Foundation donated 12 chairs, 2 tables, 146 notebooks and dictionaries and 2 racks to GSPS Dobbaspet. The essentials for education were handed over to the school by Mr. Prem Raj, UMC lead of Dobbaspet unit of Walkaroo Group. The total cost of the project was INR 56,641/-.

11. SUPPORT TO TWINKLE IN WRINKLE PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH SWARGA FOUNDATION

01.04.2022|Corporation Samudhaya Kudam,Coimbatore|Walkaroo Foundation partnered with Swarga Foundation, an NGO based out of Coimbatore, working towards providing support for physically handicapped people. Through their Pain Rehab Clinic, Sowkhya, they are conducting group exercise sessions and physiotherapy sessions for abandoned/orphaned senior citizens housed at corporation run hospice centres in and around Coimbatore. A total financial assistance of INR 67,599/- was provided to the initiative, Twinkle in Wrinkle, of Swarga Foundation, by Walkaroo Foundation for 3 months. Under this initiative, a Physiotherapist, arranged by Swarga Foundation will be visiting the hospice centres every Saturday and will spend the whole day with the inmates, and make them do physical exercises. These sessions help the inmates to remain healthy and active.

WALKAROO BRINGS A SMILE ON CHILDREN’S FACES

14.11.2022 | Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu|| Walkaroo International Private Limited along with GHSS Chettipalayam has celebrated the Children’s Day. The program kicked off with a prayer hymn sung by pupils from the school. Mr. Jawahar Karthikeyan (Head – Corporate HR, Walkaroo) delivered the Keynote Address on the topic “Is there a formula for Success?” He pondered on the 5 P's: Purpose, Passion, Preparation, Patience, and Persistence. He then provided a few instances to further illustrate his points and also explicated the notion that "when a student is ready with all the 5 P’s, the teacher will undoubtedly appear for it". A play that depicted "Drug Abuse and Its Implications" was one of the big draws of the entire program. It was written and directed by one of our employees. The students were the principal actors and alongside the students, the employees from Walkaroo have also participated in the play. The drama was followed by various colourful programs by the students along with teachers. Lastly, to commemorate the Children’s Day, the students were given delectable treats and refreshments.office.
