Walkaroo Foundation, in partnership with the NGO Kovai Kulangal Padhukaapu Amaippu, made strides toward a greener future with a tree plantation drive at Priya Avenue, Bodipalayam. On July 25, 2024, over 80 volunteers, including Walkaroo employees, local residents, and community partners, planted 400 native and medicinal saplings. This effort is part of an ongoing project to create a community park in collaboration with local authorities. By enhancing environmental sustainability and strengthening community bonds, this initiative supports key UN Sustainable Development Goals such as Good Health and Well-being, Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, and Life on Land.
FEBRUARY 2024,
Walkaroo Foundation and Seerapalayam Panchayat are joining arms to bring a lively community park to Priya Avenue in Bodipalayam. Teaming up with Kovai Kulangal Pathukappu Amaippu, Walkaroo Foundation is committed to crafting a space that caters to the various needs of the community. On the bright morning of 12th February 2024, the Bhoomi Puja ceremony marked the beginning of this endeavour on the designated site in Priya Avenue, Bodipalayam. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for Bodipalayam residents and promote community well-being.
The park will feature a playful and secure area where children can unleash their creativity and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Additionally, the tranquil walking paths within the park will offer a space for elders and adults to engage in physical activity, thus improving their health and overall well-being. Embracing the importance of green spaces, the park will also include an eco-zone to support local biodiversity and environmental conservation efforts, serving as a sanctuary for native plants, and birds.
