Promoting Menstrual Hygiene at GHSS Edayarpalayam
On 3rd September 2025, Walkaroo Foundation, under its flagship initiative Project Vazhvizhi, donated an incinerator to GHSS Edayarpalayam. With a student strength of 504, the school welcomed this thoughtful initiative aimed at promoting health and hygiene among adolescent girls.During the program, Dr. Sumitra Binu interacted with the students, highlighting the importance of menstrual hygiene and encouraging them to adopt healthy habits with confidence.
The newly installed incinerator, which can dispose of 50 sanitary napkins at a time, provides a hygienic solution while also promoting comfort and confidence among adolescent girls in school.Through this initiative, Walkaroo Foundation continues its commitment to nurturing student well-being and building learning spaces that are safe, supportive, and inclusive.


Nutrition, Health & Hygiene Workshop at Papampatty Anganwadi
On 21st August 2025, Walkaroo Foundation, in collaboration with NMCT, organized an insightful workshop on Nutrition, Health, and Hygiene at Papampatty Anganwadi as part of Project Vazhvizhi. The program was facilitated by Dr. Helana Selvakodi, Psychiatrist, and was attended by nearly twenty parents of young children.
The primary objective of the workshop was to raise awareness about the role of physical and mental health in the holistic growth and development of children. Dr. Helana discussed key issues like malnutrition, premature birth, and the dangers of junk food, encouraging parents to embrace healthy practices at home. She emphasized the importance of including fruits, nuts, and staying hydrated, and suggested home gardening to ensure access to nutritious food.In addition to physical health, the session shed light on mental well-being, focusing on issues like addiction, bullying, and alcohol abuse. Dr. Helana also guided parents on teaching children about “good touch and bad touch” as a vital step in ensuring safety and emotional security.
The workshop was highly interactive, giving parents the opportunity to share their experiences and clarify doubts. Participants expressed appreciation for the session, finding the information both practical and valuable in their everyday lives. The interactive workshop allowed parents to share experiences and ask questions with many appreciating the practical and useful information.This initiative reflects Walkaroo Foundation’s commitment to nurturing healthier, communities by empowering children, youth, and family through education, health and life skills.

Walkaroo Foundation Expands Anti-Drug Initiative to Kerala in Partnership with Kannur Police
Walkaroo Foundation, in collaboration with the Coimbatore City Police, has been actively addressing drug abuse among government school students over the past three years through impactful awareness programs, after-school Police Clubs, and free football coaching. These efforts aim to create a safer and more supportive environment for young learners.
Taking this mission forward, the Foundation has now extended its initiative to Kerala, partnering with the Kannur Police Department to further strengthen the fight against substance abuse. As a significant step, a SoToxa analyser(a mobile drug testing device) was donated by Mr. V. Noushad, Chairman, Walkaroo Foundation, to Shri. Ravada A Chandrasekhar I.P.S., DGP & State Police Chief of Kerala.
The handover took place during a formal ceremony on 5th August 2025 at the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce Hall, Kannur, in the presence of key officials and stakeholders. Organized in association with Rotary Police Engagement (ROPE), the event witnessed the participation of Shri. Rajpal Meena I.P.S., IGP, North Zone; Shri. Yathish Chandra G.H. I.P.S., DIG, Kannur Range; and Shri. Nidhinraj P. I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Kannur City.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in Walkaroo Foundation’s commitment to youth safety, community well-being, and drug-free campuses, expanding the reach of its mission beyond Tamil Nadu and into Kerala’s educational and policing ecosystem.

On March 18, 2025 Walkaroo Foundation has extended its support to the Focus Block Development Project by enhancing healthcare facilities in five Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Anamalai Block—PHC Anamalai, PHC Sethumadai, PHC Kaliyapuram, PHC Pethanaickenur, and PHC Aaliyar Nagar.As part of this initiative, essential medical equipment such as cell counters, autoclave machines, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other critical supplies were provided to improve healthcare services and accessibility.
The handover ceremony was officiated by Thiru. K. Pavan Kumar, I.A.S., District Collector of Coimbatore, in the presence of Additional Collector Thiru. Sanket Balwant Waghe, I.A.S., District Panchayat Secretary Mr. Sivabalan, and DD Health Officer Dr. Balusamy.This initiative underscores Walkaroo Foundation’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring better medical care for underserved communities.

On March 11, 2024, Walkaroo Foundation has launched “Walkaroo: Unavum Uyirum (Food and Life)”, an initiative to provide nutritious lunches for pregnant women visiting the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Chettipalayam every Tuesday. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, promoting maternal health and well-being.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Balaji from the Deputy Director of Health Services Department, the Block Medical Officer of Madukkarai Block, Dr. Prathibha, Mr. K.K. Gaffoor, Director of Walkaroo International Pvt. Ltd., medical staff, and beneficiaries.
With 40 women benefiting each week for a year, this initiative strengthens Walkaroo Foundation’s commitment to community health and support for expectant mothers.

Promoting Community Health: Awareness Initiative
On November 27, 2024, Walkaroo Foundation, in partnership with PHC Chettipalayam, held a health awareness session for 50 residents of Malumichampatti and nearby areas to promote preventive healthcare. Dr. Chandrasekar, Medical Officer, led the session, covering non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension, as well as communicable diseases like dengue and malaria. He highlighted early detection, prevention, and cancer awareness.
Participants received free blood pressure and sugar level tests, enabling early health monitoring. Dr. Chandrasekar also explained the Ayushman Bharat Health ID Card and its benefits. This initiative underscores Walkaroo Foundation’s dedication to improving community health and well-being.
JULY, 2024





Walkaroo Foundation, in partnership with Aravind Eye Hospitals, held its fourth free eye check-up and cataract surgery camp at PUPS Malumichampatti on July 28, 2024. The camp provided eye care to 434 residents from 20 nearby villages. Of those screened, 294 were diagnosed with eye issues 55 underwent cataract surgery, 169 had refractive problems, 124 were recommended for eyeglasses, and 43 were diagnosed with specialty issues. Walkaroo Foundation sincerely thanks the local community, leaders, district administration, school authorities, Aravind Eye Hospital staff, and dedicated Walkaroo volunteers. Special thanks to the MBA students of GRG School of Management Studies for their support in managing the camp.
AUGUST, 2023




On August 6, 2023, the Walkaroo Foundation, in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, organized a transformative event: a Free Eye Check and Cataract Surgery Camp that extended its care to the villages in and around Malumichampatty. Held at the premises of PUPS, Malumichampatty, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, the camp proved to be a beacon of hope for 573 beneficiaries hailing from approximately 25 villages. Notably, 70 individuals received the gift of sight through free cataract surgeries at Aravind Hospital, while 146 others were provided with expert recommendations for spectacles. The enthusiastic participation of 135 spirited Walkaroo volunteers, aided by a remarkable door-to-door publicity campaign led by 90 dedicated volunteers, contributed significantly to the camp’s resounding success.
