Empowering Families: Anganwadi Parents\u2019 Awareness Program on Positive Parenting and Nutrition at Kallapalayam<\/strong><\/p>

Walkaroo Foundation, under Project Vazhvizhi implemented at Sulthanpet block, Coimbatore, organized an impactful Anganwadi Parents\u2019 Awareness Program at Kallapalayam on 2 February 2026, focusing on positive parenting styles and healthy food habits, reinforcing its commitment to community development. The initiative focused on the vital importance of positive and supportive parenting styles in fostering children’s emotional, social, and behavioural development<\/p>

Complementing these insights, the program raised awareness about the nutritional needs of pregnant women, lactating mothers, and young children, underscoring the necessity of balanced diets for optimal physical growth, immunity, and mental development. Families were motivated to integrate locally sourced nutritious foods\u2014such as fresh vegetables, fruits, pulses, millets, and eggs\u2014into their daily meals, ensuring accessible and sustainable health improvements.<\/p>

Facilitated by MSW students from Sri Krishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, the session sparked enthusiastic engagement from parents. Their active participation and keen interest in adopting these practices highlighted the program’s resounding success. Lighting Up Lives in Keelpunachi: A Transformative Electrification Initiative<\/strong><\/p>

On 2 December2025, Walkaroo Foundation proudly handed over the completed electrification project, benefiting 23 households in the Keelpunachi tribal Settlement at Valparai. This landmark project, executed in partnership with Native Medicare Charitable Trust (NMCT), now provides safe and reliable electricity to every beneficiary home, addressing a critical infrastructural need in this remote community.<\/p>

The handover ceremony was graced by Mr. Arunkumar, I.A.S., Sub Collector of Pollachi as Chief Guest along with Mr. V. Noushad(Managing Director,Walkaroo International), Mr. A. S. Sankaranarayanan(Founder and Managing Trustee, NMCT), government officials, forest officers, and members of the local tribal community.<\/p>

This electrification initiative is poised to significantly enhance daily living standards by improving household safety, supporting educational needs, and enabling better access to essential services\u2014all vital to the growth and wellbeing of the 23 families.<\/p>

On October 12, 2025, Walkaroo Foundation organized a Cleaning and Tree Plantation Drive at the Seerapalayam Community Park, reaffirming its deep commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. The event brought together Walkaroo employee volunteers and residents of Seerapalayam, creating a vibrant atmosphere of teamwork and shared purpose.<\/p>

Volunteers enthusiastically cleaned the park premises, cleared litter, and segregated waste for recycling, breathing new life into the green space. They also planted a variety of native saplings carefully chosen to enrich the park\u2019s ecosystem and promote local biodiversity. What stood out most was the unity and enthusiasm that filled the day\u2014a beautiful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.<\/p>

Walkaroo Foundation, in collaboration with Native Medicare Charitable Trust (NMCT), organised a three-day community awareness programme from August 12 to 14, 2025, in the villages of Pampatty, Kallapalayam, and Edayarpalayam as part of the Project Vazhvizhi initiative under the Aarokkiyame Selvam domain. The programme aimed to educate and engage local communities on important social issues such as substance abuse, alcoholism, health and hygiene, teenage pregnancies, child marriage, educational opportunities, and the empowerment of girls through education.<\/p>

A key highlight of the programme was a vibrant street drama performed by the Trichy-based Bharathi Cultural Group. Through a creative mix of dance, music, and drama, the group effectively delivered strong social messages, encouraging community members to take proactive steps to address these challenges. The performances were well-received and left a lasting impact on the audience.<\/p>

To ensure maximum participation, the events were conducted in the evenings, allowing residents to join after their work hours. The programme witnessed active involvement from people of all age groups and concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session. Childrens who answered correctly were rewarded with gifts, adding an element of encouragement and engagement to the event.<\/p>

Project Vazhvizhi: Transforming Rural Communities Through Holistic Development<\/strong><\/p>

On June 5th, 2025, Walkaroo Foundation, in partnership with the Sulthanpet Block administration, launched Project Vazhvizhi<\/em>\u2014a comprehensive rural development initiative aimed at creating empowered, self-reliant communities. The project focuses on driving long-term social impact through a holistic approach that integrates education, healthcare, women\u2019s empowerment, and early childhood development.<\/p>

Project Vazhvizhi operates through four focus areas. Patashala<\/em> supports children through daily evening tuition and life skills sessions, enhancing their learning, creativity, and emotional well-being. Sakthi Maiyam<\/em> empowers rural women by offering tailoring and entrepreneurship training, enabling them to become financially independent and confident. Aarokkiyame Selvam<\/em> ensures better health outcomes through regular medical camps that provide access to essential healthcare services. Aarogya Aarambham<\/em> strengthens local Anganwadis with improved infrastructure and foundational learning support, promoting quality early childhood care.<\/p>

The project was officially inaugurated by Mr. V. Noushad, Managing Director of Walkaroo International Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. A.S. Sankaranarayanan, Founder and Managing Trustee of NMCT, the project\u2019s implementation partner. The launch event was attended by government officials including Mr. Sikkandarbatcha (BDO, Sulthanpet), Mrs. Nisha (Secretary, Edayarpalayam Panchayat), Mr. Gunasekaran (Secretary, Pappampatti Panchayat), Mrs. Sakunthala (CDPO, Sulthanpet), Mr. Kamalakannan from Lions Club, along with representatives from Walkaroo, NMCT volunteers, and community members from Edayarpalayam, Pappampatti, and Kallapalayam.<\/p>

Coinciding with World Environment Day, the launch included a plantation drive that brought together guests, volunteers, and villagers to plant saplings\u2014underscoring the project\u2019s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.<\/p>

Fostering Community Wellness Through Sustainable Green Spaces<\/strong><\/p>

On 12th<\/sup> November Walkaroo Foundation proudly inaugurated its first Community Park at Priya Avenue, Bodipalayam, Seerapalayam Panchayat, developed in collaboration<\/strong> with Kovai Kulangal Pathukkapu Amaippu, with support from the District Administration and the Seerapalayam Panchayat.<\/p>

This thoughtfully designed park spans 75 cents and features a children\u2019s play area, scenic walking paths, and an eco-zone that promotes biodiversity and environmental education. Catering to guests of all ages, the park serves as a hub for leisure, relaxation, and overall wellness.<\/p>

The park was officially opened by Mr. V. Noushad, Managing Director of Walkaroo International Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. M. Ganeshan, President of Seerapalayam Panchayat.<\/p>

During the event, the Walkaroo Foundation CSR Diary 2023\u201324 was also unveiled, showcasing the foundation’s commitment to impactful community projects throughout 2023-2024. The event featured an exhibition of garments crafted by women involved in a tailoring training project, aimed at enhancing their skills and economic opportunities. This initiative was carried out in partnership with Native Medicare Charitable Trust.<\/p>

Walkaroo Foundation, in partnership with the NGO Kovai Kulangal Padhukaapu Amaippu, \u00a0made strides toward a greener future with a tree plantation drive at Priya Avenue, Bodipalayam. On July 25, 2024, over 80 volunteers, including Walkaroo employees, local residents, and community partners, planted 400 native and medicinal saplings. This effort is part of an ongoing project to create a community park in collaboration with local authorities. On the bright morning of 12th<\/sup> February\u00a0 2024, the Bhoomi Puja ceremony marked the beginning of this endeavour on the designated site in Priya Avenue, Bodipalayam. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for Bodipalayam residents and promote community well-being.<\/p>
